Situated only a stone´s throw from Helsinki, Hanko can be reached conveniently from all parts of Finland: comfortably by train or bus to the centre of Hanko, flexibly by car along the highway 25, peacefully by bike, or by pleasure boat while enjoying the landscape - there are several different alternatives!

By train: there are regular train departures from Helsinki and Turku to Hanko. Connection in Karjaa. Please check the timetables on the railway company´s web pages www.vr.fi.

Did you know..?
• Bulevardi in Hanko was built as wide as it is because the intention was to build a tramway on this boulevard.
• The lantern-carrying stone men at the Helsinki railway station are made of granite from Hanko.
• The wind power plants on the right side of the road when one drives to Hanko are named the Finnish equivalents of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
• Kino Olympia, Finland's southernmost cinema was founded in 1919. The original theatre was burnt down during the war, and the current interior is from 1946.
